We have booked our gap year via an amazing travel company called Gap 360. I have traveled via this company before so had zero hesitation to book with them again. The trip we are doing is called the Global 360, you can customise the trip to suit you which is what me and Tim have done. The second destination on our trip is Bali (30/9/2022-11/10/2022)...
Day one:
Travel day! Enjoy all the hustle and bustle of airports with names I can't pronounce before eventually locating the tour guide and the rest of the group.
Day two:
Very brief description of the day...Temples and sunset beach visits. I mean, it sounds amazing , I would however, like to know what temple and what beach they have planned for this! I love to research places before I go so I can get the most out of them.
Day three:
We will be learning how to surf! I have a very, verrryyy strong feeling, I am going to fail at this. I can't even keep my balance when I'm walking on a flat surface so I've got no chance at keeping my balance on a small board balanced on the water.
Day four:
Some more temple visits and, apparently, we can hand feed some wild monkeys at this one! Not so sure about that, let's be honest, if the public can hand feed them, they are not wild animals. But, it's great that they are looked after and appreciated. Hopefully they are fed the correct sorts of food though...
After that, we have the chance to swim in a waterfall before heading on to the mountain surroundings of Lovina.
Day five:
It's Dolphin day! We are going on a traditional outrigger boat to partake in Dolphin spotting! After this we are going to a local home to learn how to do some traditional Balinese basket weaving and enjoy a traditional Balinese lunch.

Day six:
Gili islands time! There's plenty to explore and enjoy on these islands including horse riding, spas and beaches. Oh I am so ready for this.

Day seven:
Explore the Gili island by bike...this is going to be a great laugh for me, considering I cannot ride a bike! I was never taught how to when I was younger and then it just didn't seem necessary when I got older. Regretting that now though! Let's hope they do tandem bikes or bikes with little side cars...
Day eight:
A boat tour of all 3 Gili islands. This sounds more like it! We have the chance to snorkel while out on the boat tour, which I have never done before but I am totally down to try! After this it's a big group dinner (ugh, socialising) and...great...party night (ewwww). To be fair, by about this point in the trip me and Tim might be ready for a night out, and Bali is supposed to be a great island for partying!
Day nine:
Travel day! Taking the local ferry to Ubud.
Day ten:
Visit the monkey forest temple. I've also seen there is a Jungle swing and stunning waterfalls in Ubud so I want to find time to fit these in too!

Day eleven:
Early morning start to trek up a local volcano and watch the sunrise. We then get to enjoy breakfast cooked on the natural heat from the volcano! After such an early start, its back to Ubud for a traditional Balinese massage and relaxing evening.
Day twelve:
The Gap360 portion of the Bali leg ends here in Ubud. The next leg is Australia, but before we jet off there...
Extra days:
We have a few days in Bali before moving on to Australia, at the moment we have penciled in some plans which include meeting an old friend of mine and possibly flying to Jogja to spend a few days volunteering at WRC again! If we decide against this we will spend the extra days enjoying more of Bali and exploring the beaches. If you have any suggestions on what we can do with these spare days, let us know below!
Most excited for: Sunrise volcano trek and Balinese massage
Least excited for: the bike riding tour of the Gili islands...it's gonna be a mess. A painful mess.
So have you done any of the above activities? Have you been to any of these places? Let me know below and give me your best tips and advice for Bali!
