Phi Phi really is a slice of paradise just off of the south of Thailand. Sold as a party island, there is so much more to Phi Phi.
Kayak
You can hire a kayak for a very good price of Phi Phi. We hired a double kayak, from Solomon, for 300bhat. There was no time limit, we had the kayak for as long as we wanted.
Solomon gave us directions to different places and told us how long it'd take to get to each one. I'd never kayaked before so we opted for monkey bay as it was only 20 minutes around the cove. It was so much fun, super cheap and filled an entire morning! We stayed at monkey bay and swam in the sea for hours before kayaking back.
You can also hire the kayaks later in the day and head out onto the sea to watch the sunset, but this does come at an increased cost (around 600bhat).
Longtail boat trip
If you go to Thailand you will most definitely at some point take a trip on a longtail boat! They are very traditional in Thailand and provide great job opportunities for the locals.
From Phi Phi you can visit monkey beach and the famous Maya Bay on a longtail boat. You can do full day or half day boat tours with lots of options available from local guides.
Fire show
After a day full of activities why not relax at a beach bar and watch an intensely amazing fire show? You can watch these shows for free, but it's recommended to tip at the end of the show. Most of the beach bars on Phi Phi offer fire shows from around 8.30pm.
This is another great way to support the locals while on Phi Phi.
Viewpoints
There are 3 viewpoints on Phi Phi, accessed via 400 concrete steps! Well, just under 400 steps, but still a lot of bloody steps. I highly recommend going to the viewpoints for sunset, best watched from the second viewpoint BUT for a quieter sunset, head to the third viewpoint as most people don't know about it and don't go that far.
We watched from the second viewpoint and although crowded, it was still beautiful to see and we got a good seat.
